1. Who we are

Fantastly ("we", "us", "our") operates the website fantastly.com. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our service.

2. What data we collect

Account data

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

Profile data

You may optionally provide: first name, gender, date of birth, and a short bio. For partner profiles: first name, gender, date of birth, and notes. This data is used solely to personalise your stories.

Preference data

Your toy chest, wardrobe selections, and kinks/preferences are stored to personalise your story generation experience. This data is associated with your account and not shared with other users.

Story data

When you generate a story, we store the preferences you selected (mood, location, duration, elements) and the generated story content. Stories are linked to your account if you are logged in.

Technical data

For rate limiting, we store a one-way hash of your IP address. We do not store your raw IP address. This hash cannot be reversed to identify you. We also store standard server logs (access times, error logs) which are automatically rotated and deleted.

3. How we use your data

  • To generate personalised stories based on your preferences
  • To pre-fill the story wizard with your profile information
  • To include your owned toys, wardrobe items, and preferences in stories
  • To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
  • To authenticate you and maintain your session

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the Fantastly service.

4. Third-party services

We use Venice.ai to generate story content. When you create a story, we send your selected preferences (mood, duration, location, elements) and relevant profile context (names, owned items, preferences) to the Venice.ai API. Venice.ai processes this data to generate your story and does not retain it beyond the request. We do not send your email, password, IP address, or full profile to Venice.ai.

We do not use any advertising networks, social media trackers, or analytics services that track individual users.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on servers located in the European Union. All connections to Fantastly are encrypted via HTTPS (TLS 1.3). Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. Session cookies are marked Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite=Strict.

6. Data retention

  • Account data: retained until you delete your account
  • Stories: retained until you delete your account
  • IP hashes for rate limiting: automatically expire after 24 hours
  • Server logs: automatically rotated and deleted after 30 days

7. Your rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification — correct any inaccurate data via your profile settings
  • Erasure — request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing of your data

8. Cookies

Fantastly uses only essential cookies required for the service to function:

  • Session cookie — maintains your login state. Expires when you close the browser or after 1 hour of inactivity.
  • Remember-me cookie — if selected, keeps you logged in for 30 days.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

9. Children

Fantastly is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover that a minor has created an account, we will delete it immediately.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
